This course is intended to provide basic knowledge of typical and atypical development of young children from prenatal to 36 months and foundational understanding for the promotion of health, well-being, and development of all infants and toddlers within the context of family, community, and cultural environments. The course examines infancy and toddlerhood with an emphasis on the interralationship of cognitive, physical, social and emotional development, mental health, and early parent-child relationships.
