Duties and responsibilities:

Determines and oversees short- and long-term direction and activities for the Allied Health Sciences Program; plans and prepares program budgets, financial and related reports and funding proposals; represents the institution at State and other external forums.

Provides support for faculty in curriculum planning, classroom instruction planning and evaluation, syllabus preparation and problem solving; prepares performance appraisals and participates in professional development planning activities; conducts department meetings and provides information on institutional activities.

Initiates and administers student recruitment and retention efforts related to the Allied Health Sciences Program, including advising prospective students, directing candidate orientation, and scheduling and administering assessment examinations; initiates referrals; oversees grievance procedures.

Prepares and presents classroom instruction and implements techniques to facilitate student active learning; prepares and grades tests and student papers; advises and tutors students.

Participates in institutional, professional and other internal committee activities; establishes and maintains external professional contacts and relationships; conducts ongoing research to maintain currency in health care delivery systems, practices, treatments, drugs, technology, etc.

Qualifications:

Master of Science degree in Nursing and five (5) years of clinical experience, including one (1) year of experience teaching in an educational institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Mexico.

Salary:

Salary is based on the LCC salary schedule and is commensurate with education and occupational-related experience. Standard LCC benefits apply.
